Kerala bids tearful adieu to Mahakavi Pala Narayanan Nair

Vaikom, Kerala, Jun 12 (UNI) The mortal remains of Mahakavi Pala Narayanan Nair, who died yesterday at a private nursing home in Muttuchira near Kaduthuruthy, was cremated with full state honours in the premises of his house at T V Puram here today.

Thousands of people from different walks of life, including NSS General Secretary P K Narayana Panicker, LDF Convenor Vaikom Viswan, State Ministers and prominent persons paid their to the departed soul.

The body was kept for public homage at Vaikom Municipal Hall in the morning from where it was taken to NSS Auditorium and later to T V Puram Panchayat Hall.

From there, the funeral procession reached his home and the cremation was held with full state honours.

PWD Minister Mons Joseph represented the state government at the funeral.
