Haryana to get Israel aid in Horticulture
Chandigarh, Jun 12 (UNI) Israel Ambassador Mark Sofur today said his country would extend help to Haryana for giving major impetus to Horticulture activities in the state.
''The success of these horticultural projects would benefit the small and marginal farmers of the state,'' Mr Sofur said while addressing the villagers of Kheri Ramnagar in Kurukshetra district today.
He said Indian farmers were cultivating bumper crops by adopting new techniques and as a result India has made significant achievement in the field of agriculture.
''The credit of this progress goes to the farsighted agricultural policies of the country and also to the toil of farmers,'' Mr Sofur said.
He said both India and Israel shared cordial relations with each other. ''The traditions, customs, cultures and religions of both the countries are common to a large extent.'' He said India and Israel were implementing various projects in collaboration with each other in the field of agriculture, horticulture, water management, drip irrigation and for treatment of polluted water.
