Gujjars proceed for Jaipur to hold talks with Govt

Jaipur, Jun 12 (UNI) A delegation of agitating Gujjar leaders today left Pillukapura in Bayana for the Pink City to hold further round of talks with the Rajasthan government tonight over their ST status demand.

The delegation comprising 22 to 24 members left by a special bus around 1615 hrs this afternoon, an official spokesman told UNI from Bayana over telephone.

The delegation was expected to reach here sometime after 2000 hrs and the talks were expected to be held soon after, a senior official said here.

The state government has constituted a joint delegation of politicians and senior bureaucrats to hold the talks.

Two Cabinet Ministers Laxmi Narain Dave and Sanwar Lal Jat, state BJP president and sitting MP Om Prakash Mathur, BJP Treasurer and Rajya Sabha MP Ramdas Agrawal, Senior IAS Officers S N Thanvi, Sunil Arora and Ms Malvia Panwar were inducted in the official delegation for talks.

The decks for further talks after a gap of two days were cleared after the grant of bail to 25 women protesters who were arrested for "damaging railway property and blocking Delhi-Jaipur rail route near Bandikui".

Additional District and Session Judge Dausa Bhuvan Goyal today granted bail to the accused 25 women in the case under Section 150, 151 and 152 of the Railway Act.

Earlier, their applications for bail were rejected yesterday by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Bandikui on the grounds of lack of jurisdiction.

The first round of talks between the Gujjar leaders and the state government was held on Monday in Bayana.
