Govt releases postage stamp in honour of L
New Delhi, June 12 (UNI) Communication and Information Technology Minister A Raja today released a postage stamp in honour of co-founder of Larsen&Toubro Henning Holck-Larsen on the occasion of his birth centenary.
The Rs five denominated stamp was released in the presence of Secretary Post Radhika Doraiswamy and L&T Chairman and Managing Director A M Naik.
''Mr Holck-Larsen is an inspirational figure in India'a corporate history. Men like him have played a pivotal role in the making of modern India. We are privileged to recognise his contribution by releasing a postage stamp in his honour,'' Mr Raja said.
Mr Holck-Larsen had committed himself to helping India emerge out of the shadows of a long colonial past. He set the compass for the company's involvement in almost every facet of a newly-independent growth sectors--infrastructure, manufacture of complex heavy equipment, oil and gas and power, the Minister said.
''We also recall with gratitude Mr Larsen's role in fulfilling the aspirations of the country to reach advanced levels of development through space research and nuclear power programme,'' he said.
