Forest dwellers being evicted, Diggy writes to CM
Bhopal, June 12 (UNI) Expressing concern over forest dwellers being evicted from land in their possession, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh has demanded that forest dwellers should not be displaced and forest land rights documents be distributed.
In a letter to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Mr Singh said the Act concerning providing land rights to tribals dwelling in forest up to December 13, 2005, has become effective from January 1.
There is a provision for providing forest land rights document to tribals in this regard.
He said several tribals were being displaced from their land in his assembly segment Raghogarh. He demanded providing forest land rights document to the tribals at the earliest.
