Hasina can be tried in her absence: Bangladesh Court
Dhaka, June 10, 2008 : Bangladesh former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who was detained on corruption charges will now be able to go abroad for medical treatment. On the suggestion of government-appointed medical board a special court has exempted Hasina from appearing in person during proceedings in her trials. Hasina, led Bangladesh from 1996-2001 and was arrested in July last year by the country"s military-backed interim government.
