Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs denies nickname change

New York, June 11 : From "Puff Daddy" to "P. Diddy" and then back to "Puff Daddy", Sean Combs' constantly changing nickname game has now ended, with the rapper giving his final words on the issue, insisting that his nickname would remain "P. Diddy" only, as of now.

After recent reports of him reverting back to his old nickname "Puff Daddy" in his blog, Sean 'Diddy' Combs has said that he has not changed his nickname.

The 38-year-old star left his fans confused after he resurrected his former nickname, "Puff Daddy."

"They call me Puff Daddy ... he's back. Yeah you heard me right - I said Puff Daddy," The New York Daily News quoted him, while rapping on the remix of O'Neal McKnight's single "Check Your Coat."

In fact he also posted a message on his MySpace page on June 9, saying: "This is your boy Puff Daddy!!! Yes Puff Daddy. ..."

However, the blog post was later changed to say, "This is your boy P. Diddy, the King of the Remix..."

In August 2005, Combs announced that he was changing his nickname from "Puff Daddy" to "P. Diddy." However, he again brought his old name only for a short time.

"There is no name change," Comb's publicist told the Daily News.

And in no time, the many-monikered rapper posted a video on his MySpace page in which he said: "I did not change my name, I did not change my name, I did not change my mother f---ing name, but if I wanted to, I could call myself anything I wanted."

And then, he sowed the seed for further confusion by encouraging his fans to vote, adding, "Don't worry about if I'm changing my name, but I ain't changing my name!"
