Sarita suicide case: IG, SP, DSP transferred
Chandigarh, Jun 11 (UNI) The Haryana government today transferred the Rohtak range IG, the district SP and the area DSP in the wake of the sensational Sarita suicide case.
Rohtak range Inspector General (IG) of Police Anil Dawra, Superintendent of Police (SP) Hanif Qureshi and area Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dheeraj Malik have been shifted for ''dereliction of duty'' at the behest of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
Giving the orders, Mr Hooda said the guilty in the case would not be spared and stern action would be taken against them.
Director General of Police Ranjeev Dalal yesterday dismissed two absconding cops accused of rape and harrassment of Rohtak resident Sarita who committed suicide inside the Haryana Police headquarters in Panchkula on Monday.
He had admitted that the police system had erred in the matter and he was ''deeply hurt'' by the incident.
Accused CIA Staff, Rohtak head constable Balraj and constable Silak Raj have been booked under section 376 B of IPC in Rohtak and under section 305 of IPC in Panchkula and in view of the gravity of these charges they have been dismissed from service.
ADGP (Crime) Sharad Kumar has been entrusted with the task of finding out those responsible for the laxity in the matter and asked to submit his report within two days.
The role of DSP, Rohtak and Investigation Officer would also be under scrutiny because had the officials taken prompt action, Sarita perhaps would not have taken the extreme step, according to Mr Dalal.
Four police parties had been dispatched to Rajasthan, Sonepat and the native villages of the absconding accused to nab them.
