Hyderabad, Jun 11 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today assured that there would be no power cut in coming days even thogh Srisailam dam was shut down for periodical repairs, following a hitch in power generation.
Holding a review meeting on power situation and other issues with the minister and other officials concerned, Dr Reddy asked AP Transco to purchase power from wherever it was available as done during summer to meet the demand.
The Singareni Collieries has been asked to supply additional rakes of coal to boost thermal power generation, the Chief minister said, directing AP Transco to ensure good supply of power.
He also wanted it to take up pre-monsoon checks of transformers and sub-stations to prevent any power breakdown when the monsoon sets in.
