New Delhi, Jun 11 (UNI) The Chief Electoral officer of Delhi Satbir Silas Bedi today said no case of any Bangladeshi had been detected during the process of preparation of electoral rolls for the forthcoming assembly polls in the capital.
Adressing a press conference here, Ms Bedi said till now the Booth level officers entrusted with the task of preparing the photo electoral rolls for the 70 constituencies falling under the Delhi Assembly had not come across any Bangladeshis.
''In case any such case comes to our notice, we will refer it to the Delhi Police. It is for the Police to carry out verification in the matter, which does not fall under our jurisdiction''she said.
The statement by the Delhi Electoral officer comes even as reports suggest the presence of a large number of Bangladeshi nationals in the capital and its neighbouring areas.
