Kolkata, Jun 11 (UNI) Multi-national fast food giant McDonald's plans to invest Rs 400 crore on expansion in India by 2011 to open 60 new restaurants every year.
"India has a huge market potential for McDonald's, and to tap that market we plan to open 40-60 outlets every year. We will have a proposed investment of Rs 400 crore over the next three years," Connaught Plaza Restaurants Managing Director Vikram Bakshi today said.
At present, McDonald's has 160 restaurants in India which are operated on 50:50 joint ventures with Connaught Plaza and Hard Castel Restaurants Private.
Mr Bakshi said out of Rs 400 crore earmarked for national expansion, Rs 100 crore would be spent for the eastern region.
