Haryana Governor releases logo of women's university

Chandigarh, June 11 (UNI) Haryana Governor A R Kidwai today released the logo and motto of BPS Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Khanpur Kalan at a function held at the state Raj Bhavan here.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Education Minister Mange Ram Gupta were present on the occasion.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister presented the award cheque of Rs 25,000 to Mr D S Kapoor, the designer of the logo and the motto.

The University motto, ' empowering women with education' is prominently visible in the logo that describes the enlightenment of women through the power of knowledge.

Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr (Mrs) Pankaj Mittal said on the occasion that the institution would impart quality professional education to women and offer opportunities for professional development of the faculty. The Vice- Chancellor said that the University has a vast campus spread over 400 acres in Khanpur Kalan village in Sonipat district.
