Uttar Pradesh: Four sentenced to life for murder
Mahoba, Jun 11: In a judgement which came after three years, a local court today pronounced life imprisonment to four accused, including two siblings, for beating a person to death. On March 1, 2005, Rajaram was beaten to death publically at Bamhauri village in Charkhari area, when he was heading towards his field along with his sons Papu and Moolchand.
However, Rajaram's son escaped to safety, when the assailants attacked them over old enimity. Later, Papu had lodged a named FIR against Munna Singh, Roopsingh, Ram Kumar and Jai Shankar of the same village. District and Sessional judge Mukhtar Ahmad handed down the life imprisonment to the quartet after finding them guilty of the crime.
The court also slapped them a penalty of Rs 2,000 each. The sentence would be exceeded for an year, if they failed to deposit the penalty. Among the accused, Roopsingh and Ram Kumar were brothers.
