Doctors continuously monitor cellar girl Kerstin Fritzl

London, June 11 : Cellar girl Kerstin Fritzl is being continuously monitored by doctors after waking from a seven-week coma.

The 19-year-old was brought to hospital on April 19 after being imprisoned in a dungeon all her life by incest monster dad Josef Fritzl, 73.

Kerstin had been kept sedated since mid-April after suffering multiple organ failure, reports The Sun. statement from the hospital said: "She has been awakened from the induced coma and was able to leave the intensive care unit."

"The patient continues to need intensive medical and therapeutic care."

However, it did not confirm whether she was reunited with her two dungeon brothers and mum Elisabeth, 42.

Apart from her mother, the only people she had seen before were her two brothers Steven, 18, Felix, five, and her jailor father Fritzl, 73.

She has never met siblings Lisa, 16, Monika, 14, and Alexander, 12, who were taken upstairs as babies by Fritzl.
