Lucknow, Jun 11 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh BJP minority cell today raised voice against price rise an terrorism and handed in a memorandum to state Governor T V Rajeswar in this connection.
''The wrong policies of Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre has given way to both terrorism and uncontrolled price hike in the country,'' the BJP alleged in the memorandum.
''Neither Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, nor Congress chief Sonia Gandhi are thinking about providing relief to the commanman,'' it added and demanded withdrawal of recent cost hike in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), petrol and diesel.
Terrorist activities have increased manifold from the time UPA was ruling at the Centre, the BJP said, adding, ''even the Centre's Intelligence network has failed to control the growing menace.'' Previous National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Centre came out with Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) to wipe-off terrorism, but sadly it was dumped by the UPA government, Sheema Rizwi, vice-president of Minority Morcha said while leading the protest.
''On the one hand people are upset over increasing prices, while on the other they feel unsafe seeing upward trend in crime graph,'' she added.
