SW Monsoon active over Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram, June 10 (UNI) The South West Monsoon was active over Kerala and Lakshwadeep, with many places in the region receiving heavy rains during the last 24 hours.
Local weather office said Kozhikode, Kasaragod, Kudalur and Hosdurg received seven cm each rainfall during the period.
Kannur recorded six cm rainfall, followed by Thalasseri five cm, Kollamkode, Thaliparamba, Irikkur, Kunnamkulam and Piravam received four cm each.
It said the region would get heavy rain or thundershowers in the next 48 hours.
The Met office also warned of strong onshore winds from the South Westerly direction, with speed reaching up to 45-55 kmph along Kerala coast and over Lakshadweep during the next 24 hours.
