Talking to newsmen after launch of 'People Phone', a mobile phone with Spice lifetime prepaid connection at Rs 599 here, he said that "the company R&D wing working out on the brail key board and will be be released to the market within next three months." He said that the 'People Phone' was the first of its kind offer in GSM space. The sleek S-300 was specially designed for the emerging markets. Simplicity is the key when it comes to targeting first time users.
Detailing the salient features of the 'People Phoone' he said that the phone has audio interface system in Kannada language, it offers talk time of three hours and a 15 day battery backup, it has a speaker phone and can save 9 speed dials for easy calling, the hot key for VAS services can be used to get useful information in Kannada on Mandi (Market) rates for Vegetables, Pulses, Beverages, Cereals, Dry Fruits, Flowers, Fruits, Oil Seeds and entertainment services like Mobile Radio, Jokes and devotional sons.
The set weighs 75 grams. Subscribers can make outgoing calls to any local number at Rupees one with Lifetime validity.
Company Chief Operating Officer Rakesh Singh said that there are 4.5 crore population in Karnataka which are not covered with mobile "our aim is to capture this potentiall market".
The 'People Phone' released today would soon be launched in other parts of the country very soon. In each City the set will have local language so that it becomes people friendly.
