Mumbai, June 10 (UNI) Maharashtra NCP president Arun Gujrathi today expressed displeasure over MPCC chief Prabha Rau's remark that congress should face next elections on its own.
Speaking to newspersons at the party headquarters here, Mr Gujarathi said ''Being the State president, she should have refrained from making such remarks. It was not only unfortunate but it makes me furious''.
MPCC president had stated in Pune yesterday that in her opinion Congress should face next elections on its own.
The NCP chief reminded Ms Rau that as long as both the parties are together in the ruling alliance, they should restrain their utterances.
''We are also ready to go alone,'' he remarked.
Although it was party's tenth foundation day, there was no celebration at the party headquarters. Not even a press meet was planned. When mediapersons went to the office, no office-bearer, barring the state president, was present.
When asked about this, Mr Gujrathi said the main event was being held in Delhi.
