Cauvery Sene to picket meetings of Minister
Madikeri, Karnataka, Jun 10 (UNI) Expressing anguish against the appointment of Krishna J Palemar as Kodagu District in-charge Minister, members of the Cauvery Sene have decided to picket his public meetings in the district.
Sene Convener Ravi Chengappa, addressing a press conference here yesterday, urged Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa to give ministerial berth to MLAs from the district and appoint them as district in-charge.
''As the state government is showing a step motherly attitude towards Kodagu, the Sene will boycott all the meetings of Palemar in Kodagu,'' he added.
He said Sene activists would block the Kodagu-Kerala border on June 16 to oppose the move by the Kerala Government to take up a power project across Barapole, running across Kodagu.
If the proposed project was taken up, lands in Kodagu would be submerged he said, adding the Karnataka Government should intervene and stop the project.
