Shirali records 12 cm rainfall

Bangalore, June 9 (UNI) Following is a Summary of observations recorded by the weather office here at 0830 hrs today.

South west monsoon has further advanced into the remaining parts of North Interior Karnataka thus covering the entire State. Monsoon was active over Coastal Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Heavy amounts of rainfall (cm): Shirali 12; Karwar 11; Kota, Kundapur, Ankola 10 each; Siddapura(Udupi), Bhatkal 9 each; Kumta 8; Mangalore, Belthangadi, Mulki 7 each.

Other chief amounts of rainfall (cm): Kollur, Kadra 6 each; Panambur, Bajpe 5 each; Sulya, Mani, Bantwal, Udupi, Jagalbet, Sirsi, Honavar, Kottigehara, Khanapur 4 each. Puttur, Mudibidre, Karkala, Yellapura, Joida, Kiravatti, Linganamakki 3 each.

Maximum temperatures fell at a many places and were markedly normal over North Interior Karnataka.

Raichur recorded the highest maximum temperature of 38.4 degree celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Wednesday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at many places over Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin:Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at most places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka and at many places over all the districts of Interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall Warning:Heavy rain may occur at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka with very heavy falls at isolated placed over ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during next 48 hours.

Local forecast:Generally cloudy sky. Surface winds will be strong and gusty at times. Occasional light rain likely.
