Lucknow, June 9 (UNI) Alleging Mayawati's government conspiracy behind lodging of fake criminal cases against the Samajwadi Party (SP) workers, party's supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today announced to personally lead an agitation against the state government very soon.

''Recent atrocities against the SP leaders and workers in Ferozabad, Pratapgarh and Allahabad are a conspiracy by the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) to demoralise us before the Lok Sabha elections,'' Mr Yadav said addressing a press conference here.

The SP chief also warned the state officials, who were in nexus with the BSP government and were targetting the SP workers. He also said his party leaders would meet state Governor and the President and apprised them about the ''anti-democratic'' approach of the UP government.

He also said he would personally visit Ferozabad on June 16 to hear the grievance of the party workers. In Ferozabad police opened fire on SP leaders when they were supporting the Gujjar reservation issue, in which three people had sustained critical injuries.

The party would also send enquiry teams to Pratapgarh and Maharajganj under the leadership of Shivpal Singh Yadav and Ahmed Hassan on June 11. In Pratapgarh, a nine-member delegation will probe into how cases against Gangster Act were registered against seven supporters of SP MP Akshay Pratap Singh and independent MLA Raja Bhaiyya yesterday when they had no criminal cases against them, he added.

In Maharajganj, the team will find out the real reason for the June 7 incident, in which the sacked BSP minister Jamuna Nishad was involved in the killing of a police constable.

Mr Yadav said after the reports of the two delegations and his visit of Ferozabad, a meeting of the party MPs, MLAs and district president would be called to chalk out the programme of the agitation.

In Allahabad, the SP president said police was conspiring to encounter Ram Lochan Yadav, brother of party ex-MLA Bijma Yadav today.

''Now it was a high time to launch agitation against the misdeeds of the BSP government and I would personally lead the protest'', Mr Yadav said.

The former Chief Minister also alleged that the BSP government was trying to prove that the SP was a party of criminals, while in reality the officials of the government were giving direct patronage to the criminals and they seen directly entering in the offices of these officials.

''Within a fortnight I will release the list of the officials, who are behind the conspiracy against the SP along with the number of party workers affected'', he added.
