Jabalpur, June 9 (UNI) Union Industries and Commerce Minister Kamal Nath today said the Congress would waive electricity bills of farmers up to five horse power and provide single bulb connection to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe people in Madhya Pradesh if voted to power during the upcoming state assembly elections.

''Temporary connections would be made permanent and adequate power would be supplied to farmers,'' Mr Nath told a public meeting here.

State Congress President Suresh Pachouri, Vice-President Harvansh Singh, Secretary Sanjay Pathak, former Mayor Vishwanath Dubey and district Congress Committee president Vishnushankar Patel were also present.

He blamed the government for not providing adequate power to industries which is hampering investment in the state. The BJP failed to fulfill poll promises and public would seek reply during the upcoming assembly elections in the state.

Talking to reporters, he alleged that Madhya Pradesh had become centre of corruption during the four-year rule of the BJP. The Congress would launch a campaign against corruption if it came into power.

Mr Nath said the party would provide job opportunities to unemployed youths who had passed Xth, XIIth and completed graduation.
