Bangalore, June 9 (UNI) Karnataka Lokayukta sleuths have arrested a First Division Assistant (FDA) in Revenue Department, Mysore on the charges of accepting bribe for showing an official favour.
According to a Lokayukta press release here today, M B Mallikarjuna demanded Rs 10,000 from Ms Maya Suresh to change name of her daughter Ms Krutika Naidu. However, after much bargaining it was settled for Rs 5000.
However, not willing to pay the bribe, Ms Maya Suresh approached Lokayukta, who laid a trap and caught red handed Mallikarjuna while accepting the brige on Saturday.
In another incident, a Khadi and Village Industries Field Officer in Tumkur, Ramakrishna was arrested while accepting Rs 1,500 as bribe from farmer K S Prakash for releaseing subsidy amount of Rs 14,250 to Jnana Vahini Kendra run by him. He had already taken Rs 500 and had demanded Rs 1500 more.
