Eesha emerges sole leader

Kozhikode, Jun 9 (UNI) Women Grand Master (WGM) and fourth seed Eesha Karvade of Maharashtra emerged sole leader with five points defeating Bhakti Kulkarni (four) of Goa in the fifth round of the 35th National Women 'B' Chess Championship here today.

Closely chasing har at the second spot were Nisha Mohota of Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB), Mary Ann Gomes of West Bengal and Aarti Ramaswamy of Tamil Nadu 4.5 points each beating Amrita Mokal (Mah), Suprya Maji (WB) and Divyasri C H (AP), 3.5 points each respectively.

Important results: Bhakti Kulkarni 4 (Goa) lost to Eesha Karvade 5 (Mah), Nisha Mohota 4.5 (PSPB) bt Amrita Mokal 3.5 (Mah), Mary an gomes 4.5 (WB) bt Supriya Maji 3.5 (WB), Aarti Ramaswamy 4.5 bt Divyasri C H 3.5 (AP), Nadig Kruttika 4 (Mah) drew with Nimmy A G 4 (Ker), Devangi Patankar 3.5 (Mah) lost to Swati Ghate 4 (Mah), Preeti R 3.5 (TN) drew with Raghavi N 3.5 (TN), Swati Mohota 4 (WB) bt Bindu Sarita 3 (LIC), Sangreeta R 4 (TN) bt Saranya 3 (TN).
