Lucknow, June 9 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (CPI) will hold a ''Bundelkhand Bachao'' rally in Jhansi on June 11.
The CPI today alleged that the central and the state governments were busy politicising the drought issue in impoverished Bundelkhand region and doing nothing for the people.
''The people of the affected region are facing pangs of hunger and committing suicide, but the government is doing little in this regard,'' the party sources added.
Therefore, seeing the seriousness of the matter, the CPI has decided to hold a ''Bundelkhand Bachao'' rally in Maharani Laxmibai park of Jhansi on June 11.
CPI general secretary A B Bardhan would address the rally, sources informed.
Besides this, the party in assistance with Left parties would carry out ''Rasta Roko'' and ''Jail Bharo'' movements in other districts of the state.
