Coalition partners pledge support to Kamat for full term
Panaji, Jun 9 (UNI) The coalition partners of the Congress-led government in Goa, which had completed one year in office yesterday, reiterated their 'continued' and 'unqualified' support to chief minister Digambar Kamat here today.
Pooh-poohing reports that the partners were trying to create one problem or the other to the chief minister, state health minister Viswajeet Rane (independent) told mediapersons in the presence of chief minister that the coalition partners had renewed their support for the full five year term.
''It is the prerogative of chief minister to allocate or change portfolios. We have nothing do with them, as we pledge our total support to the chief minister,'' he said when asked about the demand for stripping Dayanand Narvekar of his finance portfolio.
The government's coalition partners include NCP (3), MGP (2) and Independent (1), while the BJP with 14 legislators is in the opposition.
