13 killed, 15 injured in road accidents in AP
Hyderabad, Jun 9 (UNI) Thirteen people were killed and 15 injured in three separate road accidents in Medak, Karimnagar and Kurnool districts of Andhra Pradesh today.
According to police, six people were killed on the spot and three injured when the car in which they were travelling from Pundaripuram, a pilgrimage centre to Karimnagar, hit a lorry on the Narsapur-Sanga Reddy road near Mallapur village in Medak district.
In another accident, four people were killed and two injured when the car they were travelling in plunged into a river after hitting the railings of the Renigunta bridge near Timmapur village in Karimnagar district, they said.
The driver of the car, proceeding from here to Karimnagar, lost control over the vehicle and hit the bridge before plunging into the river, they said.
Three people were killed and ten seriously injured when the car in which they were travelling in collided head-on with a lorry near Nandyal checkpost on the outskirts of Kurnool town in Kurnool district, police added.
The injured were admitted to a local hospital, police added.
