With clouds disappearing, mercury rises to 36 deg C
New Delhi, June 8 (UNI) Clouds hovering over the capital skyline for the last two days disappeared today to make way for a bright sun, making the mercury rise to 36 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature recorded at 36 degrees was 5 degrees below normal. Yesterday, it was recorded at 32.7 degrees C.
The night, however, remained cool. The minimum temperature was recorded at 26.6 degrees C, two degrees below normal.
According to the weather department, the maximum temperature for the next 24 hours was expected to stay around 35 degrees C. The coolness in the weather was likely to persist for the week and also the beginning of next week with forecast of more rain and thundershowers in the city in the next two to three days, some of them accompanied with thundersqualls.
