Chennai, Jun 8, (UNI) The Supreme Court has decided to set-up a 'Specialised Body' in every state of the country, headed by a retired judicial officer and assisted by professional managers,to have an in-depth analysis and categorisation of pending cases in the High Courts.

According to sources in the Madras High Court Registry, the apex court judgments would be used as a tool for speedy disposal of cases in the High Courts across the country.

The Supreme Court Arrears Committee has also decided to recommend to all Chief-Justices of the High Courts, that pending cases which are similar to the cases disposed off by the apex court could be dealt with in a similar manner in High Courts too.

The arrears committee is of the view that the problem of pending cases cannot be tackled by a generalised approach and specific areas and bottlenecks need be addressed.

A ''Negative list'' would be prepared in every court right from the junior civil judge right up to the high court, after the completion of analysis by the state level committee.

The Arrears Committee has prepared software to identify and differentiate between on-track and off-track cases.

The state level committee would prepare a list of pending cases in various courts across the state and examine the reasons and factors causing delay.
