Shimla, Jun 8 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today led the people of the state in paying tributes to Maharana Pratap on his 469th birth anniversary.
He along with a number of Cabinet colleagues offered floral tributes at maharana's portrait at Palampur in Kangra district of the state during a function organised by the Rajput Kalyan Sabha.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Dhumal said his new statue would be installed at Maharana Pratap Nagar as a mark of respect, replacing the old statute.
Emphasising the need to rewrite the history, he said facts should be verified before writing any history, so that readers were not misled.
State Irrigation and Public Health Minister Ravinder S Ravi, Rajput Kalyan Sabha president S.C. Parmar, Anurag Thakur, MP, Vipin Parmar, MLA, were among others present on the occasion.
