New Delhi, Jun 8 (UNI) Summer is here. And like every year, the movie channels in India are ready with a host of Bollywood and Hollywood blockbusters to keep viewers glued to the television to escape from the summer heat outdoors.

This summer, UTV Movies, the Hindi Movie Channel from UTV Global Broadcasting (UGBL), had lined up for the viewers a series of star studded and latest Bollywood films, to be telecasted in June and July like Amrita Rao-starrer 'My Name Is Anthony Gonzalves', Manisha Koirala and Kay Kay Menon film 'Sirf-Life Looks Greener on the Other side' and the Ajay Devgan Pankaj Kapoor-starrer 'Halla Bol'.

Besides, the viewers can look forward to watching films like 'Jhankaar Beats', 'Jism' and 'Hu Tu Tu', which were among a slate of 17 films acquired by UTV Movies from Star through the syndication route. The titles also include the Sudhir Misra directed 'Hazaron Khwaishein Aisi'.

Premiering on the channel on June 6 at 2030 hrs in the popular 'Shan-E-Shukravar' slot is the Amrita Rao-starrer 'My Name is Anthony Gonsalves'. On June 27, the recently released 'Sirf', starring Kay Kay Menon, Manisha Koirala, Praveen Abbas, would premiere in the same slot. Infact, this movie is being aired within two months of theatrical release, which is a record of sorts. This would be followed by the Blockbuster movie 'Halla Bol', starring Ajay Devgan and Vidya Balan in July.

With the channel being on an acquisition spree for latest Bollywood blockbusters, the television viewers could in the coming days expect a host of premieres of latest films.

''Within three months of its launch UTV Movies has brought viewers wholesome entertainment. To keep the momentum going we are on an aggressive acquisition path with some more announcements expected shortly. We comprehend the zeal of our viewers and want to remain at the equivalent echelon of delivering'',says Shantonu Aditya, Executive Director UTV Global Broadcasting Limited (UGBL).

Besides adding a slate of 17 movies from Star through the syndication route, the UTV Movies has also acquired Ram Gopal Varma's 'Naina'and Om Puri starrer comedy 'King of Bollywood' from I Dream Productions.

Both these movies would be premiered on the channel soon.

Launched on February 24, UTV Movies had premiered blockbuster movies on television like 'Aap Kaa Surroor', 'Life in a Metro', 'Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal' and many more movies contemporary movies.

For Hollywood buffs too, there is a lot on store on television this summer.

'Bindass Movies', another movie channel from the stable of UTV, would bring for the viewers the late night premieres of seven horror films to thrill and excite them enough to send their adrenaline pumping.

One of the scariest and spookiest films in Hollywood's repertoire like the Doug Bradley starrer series 'Hell raiser deader', 'Hell raiser hell seeker' and 'Hell raiser inferno', 'The Night Watch', 'The Prophesy'(II&III) starring academy award winner Christopher Walken and 'Dracula(II) would be telecasted at 2345, just 15 minutes away from midnight, during an entire week dedicated to 'Horror Cinema', starting from June 16 to June 22. All the films would be dubbed in Hindi.
