Bangkok, Jun 8 (UNI) Newcomer Harman Baweja says he feels privileged, not annoyed, when he is compared to superstar Hrithik Roshan for his style action.
''I am not a star yet, what I am is because of my parents Harry and Pammi Baweja,'' he told newsmen at a pre-release press conference of 'Love story 2050' scheduled to hit screens gobally on July 4.
The debutant, who is already mired in controversies over the allegations of copying Hrithik's style, said, ''It is a challenge to be compared to a well-established actor who had done 20-plus films in eight years'', adding he depended and believed on his own talent.
His co-star Priyana Chopra, who has also done films with Hritik, however, was quick to add that Harman had his own distinctive style and onscreen his performance was different The first ever Indian Science Fiction offering, 'Love Story 2050' is expected to take Indian cinema to a new high in the global arena with nearly 93 minutes of feature in the 110-minute film, veteran Director Harry Baweja's home production financed by Adlabs cost him around ten million dollars, considered to be the costliest ever Indian film.
Both Harry and Priyanka were confident that technology would not hijack the storyline of the film. ''It's a love story running through the entire film,'' Harry said, while Priyanka vehemently denying that the storyline would take a backseat said emotions are packed in the film.
Harry admitted that he did speak to film producers whose films were scheduled between May and July to find out a suitable date. He had even talked to Actor Aamir Khan whose production ''Jaane Tu.. Ya Jaane Na'' starring his nephew Imran Khan is also scheduled for a July 4 release. ''It's unfortunate the date is clashing, but competition is tough and healthy,'' he added. He said Aamir would try his best to defer the release of his film, 'Love Story 2050' is a magical love story of Karan (Harman) a young spirited sporty boy who loves life off the rules and Sana (Priyanka) a young shy girl who lives life by rules. Karan's uncle Yatinder Khanna (Bomman Irani), a wacky scientist, has been working on a time machine for years and it finally works. Sana expreses her wish to travel time Mumbai in the year 2050 search for love travel back into time through a series of twists and turns.
Both Harman and Priyanka are here to perform at the IIFA awards function as a promotion to the film that has been three and a half years in making.
Priyanka said the film was very special for her. It is an honour to be part of Indias first sci-fi film, she said, adding such a film had never been attempted in the country before.
Harry said several top-notch Hollywood special effect teams, including one from New Zealand who had been associated with films such as the King Kong, Harry Potter series have contributed to the special effecs which would include flying cars across Mumbai sky scrapers with robots and gizmos dancing and performing.
