Student arrested for having maoist links
Kendrapara, Jun 7 (UNI) Police have arrested a plus three Commerce student and one of his associates from Jagatsinghpur town for their alleged link with the Maoists.
Rabindra Biswal (25), a plus three Commerce student of SVM College, Jagatsinghpur, was arrested by police during a joint raid, conducted by Jagatsinghpur and Sambalpur police, two days back.
A revolver, four live catridges, some objectionable leaflets of Maoists, receipt books and two maps were seized by police from their possession.
Jagatsinghpur Police Superintendent R K Sharma said a manhunt was on to arrest two other associates of Biswal.
Police said Biswal was arrested after one Prasant Kumar Parida, a Maoist, who surrendered before the Erasama police in May last, during the interrogation disclosed Biswal and his sister's involvement with Maoist organisation in Sambalpur.
In February last, Erasama police arrested woman Maoist Manjulata Muduli alias Rina at Laxmanpur and seized some incriminating documents from her possession.
