Mangalore, Jun 7 (UNI) Normal life was disrupted as heavy rain, under the impact of the Southwest monsoon, lashed Mangalore and Udupi districts today.
While 12 houses were fully damaged in Udupi district, one house was partially damaged in Mangalore, official sources told UNI.
Vehicular traffic between Mangalore and Udupi on the national highway was affected for more than two hours as rain water flooded the road.
Office-goers and school children had a harrowing time to reaching their destinations.
Meanwhile, the sea was rough from Chota Mangalore to Someshwar, particularly at Ullal, Kotepura and Mogaveerapatna areas on the outskirts of the city, posing threat to vegetation and coconut trees. High tidal waves were hitting the shores causing damage to some stretches of the roads along the coastline.
