PWD commences E-procurement to show tranparency in work
Madikeri, Karnataka, Jun 7 (UNI) The Kodagu wing of PWD has commenced the new system of E-procurement as part of transparency in work, following the special instructions given by State Additional Secretary, in a recent meeting held at Bangalore.
At a special meeting of engineers and contractors held in the fort premises here, HP Project Manager Dwarakanath gave power point presentation to train the officials about the new system.
The contractors would be given the digitally signed certificates.
The new technology was applicable to the tenders above Rs 50 lakh only.
The preparation of estimates, administrative approval for the same, technical approval and budget allotments would be done through computerized and could be seen online also.
Instead of remitting EMD's through bank guarantees to tenders, new way of DD or electronic fund transfer system would be introduced.
The scheme was introduced by the State PWD, Port and Inland Water Transport Department.
Any contactor who wanted to enjoy this facility should register their names by paying a fee of Rs 500 to the department. The contractors would be trained in different stages.
