Light showers in HP

Shimla, Jun 7 (UNI) Light showers lashed isolated places in Himachal Pradesh during the last 24 hours following the weakening of Western Disturbance, the met office said today.

Una town recorded 34.3 mm overnight rains followed by 27.8 mm rains at Sundernagar and another five mm during the day, while Nahan and Shimla towns recorded 8.4 and 7.5 mm rains up to 0830 hrs.

Overcast conditions continue to prevail over almost all places in the state since this morning following light showers at isolated places.

Thin clouds are prevailing over Shimla town, other adjoining areas and other parts of the state following the day temperatures rose by a few degrees, while the day temperatures almost remained stationary.

The minimum temperature at Shimla town rose by over a degree to 15.6 degrees Celsius as compared to yesterday, while Sundernagar, Bhuntar and Kalpa recorded day night temperatures of 20.3, 18.4, and 8.9 degrees.

The famous tourist resort of Dharamshala recorded a night temperature of 20.1, Mandui 21.8, Una 18.3 and Nahan 21.9 degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperature at Shimla stood at 23.2 degrees as compared to 23 degrees Celsius recorded yesterday, while Sundernagar Bhuntar, Kalpa and Dharamshala recorded day temperatures of 32.5, 33,6, 23.7 and 29.2 degrees Celsius respectively.

The met office has forecast rain or thundershowers at a few isolated places in the state during the next 24 hours.
