HSC student ends life for securing low score
Kolhapur, Jun 7 (UNI) A twelfth standard student allegedly committed suicide at his house in Vakare village of Karvir taluka in this district today, aggrieved over his low score.
Police have identified the boy as Praveen Bhagwan Patil, a science student from the Shriram High School and Junior College.
Praveen had secured 88 per cent marks in the tenth standard and was hopeful about repeating the performance in the HSC examinations too.
Praveen checked his results on the internet and found that he had secured only 54 per cent, police said.
A disappointed Praveen strangulated himself while he was alone in the house today. His father is a professor in the same junior college.
