Bayana, June 7 : The Gujjars demanding Scheduled Tribe status will hold talks with the Rajasthan Government here today.
The Gujjars decision to hold the talks was taken at a meeting of top Gujjar leaders on Friday.
Earlier, the State Government sent a letter of invitation for talks to Gujjar leader Colonel Kirori Singh Bainsla.
Stirred by the Central Government's lack of concern to their plight and their demand for Scheduled Tribe status, the Gujjars on Friday openly cursed the latter and put a Rs.5 crore price for anyone beheading Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
Chaudhary Virender Singh, the President of the Akhil Bharatiya Gujjar Mahasabha said that a national protest with a special force would be initiated to bring both the State and Central Governments to their knees.
Meanwhile, Gujjars demanded the presence of Congress MP Sachin Pilot, as a precondition for the cremation of 20 agitators killed in the May 24 violence.
The Gujjars have been agitating in support of their demand for being granted Scheduled Tribe status.
The protests have often turned violent and resulted in deaths of both members of the community as well as police.
