Faizabad, June 7 (UNI) Rejecting the application of accused terrorists seeking photo copy of wintesses' testimony, a local court today deferred the November 23, 2007 Faizabad court blast case to June 24.
Four accused terrorists -- Khalid Mujahid, Tarik Kazami, Mohammad Akhtar and Sujjadurhaman -- were brought up from Lucknow jail and produced before Additional District Judge (III) R K Gautam.
Against the backdrop of the manhandling incident of accused' lawyer Shoaib Ahmad by his fellow colleagues, tight security arrangements were made in the court precincts today.
Another Allahabad High Court lawyer Jitendra Bahadur today appeared as counsel for the accused.
A Testimony of witness, Purshotam Pandey, could not be recorded today. The case would now be heard on June 24.
Eariler on May 28, Faizabad Bar Association minister Mansor Ilahi, one of the witnesses, was cross questioned.
There were total 33 witnesses in the case.
Prior to the last hearing on May 28, some advocates had manhandled Mr Ahmad, following which he was provided security cover.
According to casualty in Faizabad court, four people had lost their lives and 24 others sustained greivous wounds.
