2 naxals surrender in Chhattisgarh
Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, Jun 7 (UNI) Two naxals associated with Communist Party of India (Maoist) and active in Surguja district today surrendered in front of police in Korea district, police said.
Samay Lal (24) and Sheela (18), residents of Majhgawan in Korea district, were also associated with insurgents' Satyam group. Several criminal cases were registered against them. They carried a reward of Rs 5,000 on their heads.
The duo was detached from Satyam group from Kundargarh mountain when they were on their way to Jharkhand on April 20 and since then they were trying to contact police.
Samay and Sheela surrendered in front of General Inspector of Police B S Marawi at district headquarters and a 12 bore gun, several bullets and 15 kg gunpowder were seized from them, police added.
