Workshop on disaster prepardness

Shillong, Jun 06 (UNI) A two-day Workshop on disaster preparedness in Meghalaya will be held here from June 10.

According to official sources here today, the workshop will be organised in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) of the Union government, North Eastern Council (NEC) and Meghalaya government.

Chief Minister Donkupar Roy will witness the live Rescue Demonstration and inaugurate the NRDF exhibituion on the opening day.

The demonstration will be presented by distinguished national level experts on various disasters and different aspects of disaster management and mitigation.

Besides the Chief Minister, Members of the NDMA Lt Gen J R Bhardwaj, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, and MK Singh, Chief Secretary Ranjan Chatterjee and NEC member P P Shrivastav are expected to participate in the workshop.
