Tolkowsky inks JV with CKC to market diamond jewellery

Bangalore, June 6 (UNI) Connoisseurs of diamond jewellery can now look to buy the ultimate with the world famous Tolkowsky, a 200-year-old European diamond house, offering its products through C Krishnaiah Chetty and Sons (CKC) showrooms in India.

A joint venture (JV) was today signed between Jean Paul Tolkowsky, the seventh in the illustrious generation of diamantairs, and CKC Managing Director Vinod Haygriv.

The Tolkowskys are known for their invention of the Ideal Cut, regarded universally as the supreme cut for a modern round diamond.

''We chose CKC for their excellence in jewellery craftsmanship and their reputation over 135 years. Trust between us will go a long way in establishing brand and partnership,'' Mr Tolkowsky said.

Speaking to mediapersons here, he said the jewellery to be offered in the Indian market would be a fusion of CKC's Indian Line and Tolkowsky diamonds cut and polished in its factory in Thailand.

The USP of Tolkowsky diamond was its perfection in all the spheres of Triple Excellent Quality like Cut specification, finish and symmetry.

Mr Haygriv said the Indian line included Signature, Tumbling, Twist, Loop and Tear Drop and it included ear wear, neck wear for women and rings and single diamond ear studs for men. ''The range starts from Rs 35,000 and actually there is no upper limit for the Tolkowsky-CKC diamond jewellery,'' he said.

CKC had been dealing with Tolkowsky diamonds for some years, but this is for the first time that the brand is available as an exclusive range in India.

He said CKC, which had presence only in the city at present, was planning to open six more premium stores across the country by the year 2012.
