Terrorism-based Indian film to hit silver screens
Bangkok, Jun 6 (UNI) Another terrorism-related film Mission Istanbul to hit the silver screen on July 11.
The much-awaited Vivek Oberoi and Zayed Khan starrer, whose music was released by veteran actor Jitendra at the ongoing IIFA-2008 weekend here today, is not per se based on terrorism, but how circumstances lead people to get involved in terrorism, said director Apoorva Lakhia.
Lakhia, who had earlier made films such as Ek Ajnabee and Shootout at Lokhandwala told UNI his film is purely commercial, action-packed thriller and he has no message for the masses.
''I am here to entertain and my producers believe in me,'' he said, adding he was 110 per cent satisfied with the outcome.
The film shows how an electronic media journalist is forced to wield a gun and join a former Turkish commando in a bloody mission against international terrorism.
Aiming to take a break from films for a year after Mission Istanbul, which has been extensively shot at Turkey, Jaipur and Mumbai, Lakhia said his films would always be commercially oriented.
The film was shot continuously in these locations for 51 days.
He said Turkey was a beautiful location for shooting such a film with its lanes and bylanes offering an ideal locale.
The film cast also includes Shriya Saran, Suniel Shetty, Nikitin Dheer and newcomer Shwetta Bharadwaj.
The music of the film is a collaborative work of four music directors Anu Malik, Shameer Tandon, Mika and debutante Chirantan Bhatt. Anu Malik joins reputed Turkish singer Ege in a soulful sire in Jo Sumshuda. Shameer Tandon has clubbed Indian lyrics with Turkish sounds, keeping the original track intact.
