Suzlon buys 30 pc stake in REpower Systems
New Delhi, Jun 6: Suzlon Energy Ltd, the country's biggest wind-turbine generator maker, today said it has acquired a 30 per cent stake in Germany's REpower Systems AG from world's largest nuclear power plant maker Areva SA.
The company said in a statement that it has signed a share purchase agreement with Areva for acquisition of Areva's total stake of approximately 30 per cent in REpower Systems AG, Germany. The acquisition will consolidate the company's total holding in REpower to about 66 per cent. With this acquisition and through voting pooling agreement with another major shareholder of REpower-- Martifer of Portugal, Suzlon Energy will get voting rights of nearly 89 per cent in REpower subject to certain minority protection and other rights, the statement added.
