Sea Erosion revisits K'taka coast
Udupi, Jun 6 (UNI) Even before the real onset of the monsoon, sea erosion had started threatening the life of fishermen residing near the shore along the coast in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.
The boulders put to prevent the erosion few years ago at Muloor sea shore in Kaup in the district being eroded since Tuesday last after high tides lashed the shore repeatedly.
Several coconut trees were uprooted and two houses on the edges of the sea near Muloor Road were on the verge of collapse. The family members of these houses had been shifted to safer places.
Sea erosion had also reported at Paduvari in Byndoor in the district.
In Ullal in Dakshina Kannada district, high tides were hitting the shore since Wednesday and a compound wall of a private resort had collapsed.
