Lahore, Jun 6: Though Pakistan's foreign office has maintained a silence on it, in a latest development, perhaps signifying 'growth of democracy' in the country, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani would visit Ankara instead of President Pervez Musharraf, who has reportedly dropped his scheduled state visit to Turkey.

Parrying questions about the crucial change of plan of Turkey visit, FO spokesman Muhammad Sadiq merely stated that Musharraf would not be going to Turkey, the Daily Times reported. On the agenda were important tripartite talks involving Afghanistan, Pakistan and Turkey, in which the host nation will play the mediator, added the paper.
