Moily pats Cong Govt on manifesto implementation
Hyderabad, June 6 (UNI) All India Congress Committee Andhra Pradesh in-charge M Veerappa Moily today patted the Congress Government for implementing the party's election manifesto with all sincerity.
Mr Moily, who chaired the meetings of the Manifesto Implementation Committee and the Coorindation Committee, told reporters later that Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had steered the State well, performing creditably.
Mr Moily, along with other Manifesto Committee members -- former Union Minister C K Jaffer and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Shiv Charan Mathur, reviewed the implementation of the promises and made suggestions to prepare the party for facing the 2009 Lok Sabha and Assembly Elections.
''The Government has implemented all the promises made to the people,'' Mr Moily, a Congress Working Committee permanent invitee, said, adding that in July, he would visit villages across the State to get first-hand feedback from the people at the grassroot level.
The Coordination Committee meeting remained inconclusive and would be resumed on June 10, he added.
The Chief Minister submitted a report on the implementation of the promises made in the Election Manifesto, including free power to peasants, waiver of power dues of farmers and ''Pavala Vaddi'' scheme for women Self Help Groups.
The Coordination committee was attended by Dr Reddy, Pradesh Congress Committee(PCC) President D Srinivas and CWC member G Venkatswamy.
