Khanduri toured maximum number of places
Dehra Dun, Jun 6 (UNI) Uttarakhand Chief Minister B C Khanduri has earned the distinction of being the first Chief Minister to have toured 111 places in the state during 15 months of his tenure.
Some of the places have never been visited by any other Chief Minister since Independence, Secretary to the Chief Minister, P K Sarangi said in a statement issued here today.
Mr Khanduri's philosophy of governance envisaged a 'people friendly' approach wherein he participated in direct dialogues with the masses and personally monitored problems and developments taking place in various regions, he said.
He conducted meetings with district officers during tours to various parts of the state including remote areas, Mr Sarangi informed.
To ensure his availability, a multi-purpose auditorium had been constructed in the Secretariat, where people were free to meet him without any pass.
People were free to visit him on any working day between 1300 and 1400 hrs in the capital and give him their suggestions, Mr Sarangi added.
