Hyderabad, Jun 6 (UNI) Senior Congress leader, former minister and Jagityal MLA T Jeevan Reddy was re-inducted into the Y S Rajasekhara Reddy Ministry without portfolio in Andhra Pradesh today.
Mr Reddy was administered the oath of office by Governor N D Tiwari in the forecourt of the Raj Bhavan here at a simple function this evening. At present, the total number of ministers in Dr Reddy's cabinet was 41.
The minister had quit as State Road and Buildings Minister to contest against Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhara Rao from the Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency in the byelections held on May 29. He had, however, lost to Mr Rao by a margin of about 15,000 votes.
Mr Reddy was elected MLA five times from Jagityal Assembly constitutency in Karim Nagar District.
Chief Minister Y S Rajasekahra Reddy, Finance minister K Rosaiah, AP Legislative Council Chairman A Chakrapani, Commercial Tax minister K Ramakrishna, Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandar Rao, Congress MLAs and MLCs attended the swearing-in ceremony.
