Court summons IAS officer over forgery
Jaipur, Jun 6 (UNI) A local court has summoned senior IAS officer of Rajasthan cadre B B Mohanti to appear before it on June 16 in a case of forgery.
Additional District Judge (One) issued orders in a review petition filed by one Narain Padhi against the verdict of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (Ten) who had dismissed a case of forgery lodged by the petitioner against Mohanti.
As per the case Mohanti and his wife Meera Mohanti had allegedly taken a house on rent in Bhuneshwar to run a school.
Later, the officer had allegedly secured landlord S S Sharma's signatures on blank stamp paper and prepared a fake title document for the said house and pressurised landlord to pay Rs 5.5 lakh for getting the house vacated.
The landlord had reportedly paid the amount to Mohanti in the presence of mediator Narain Padhi but the former did not vacate the house.
The case filed by the mediator was dismissed by the trial court and subsequently, he filed a review petition against the verdict.
